Just Spent Four Hours to Make Five Dollars

I don't think I could be a professional card player to make a living. My patience wanes, and my mind wanders too often. About three hours in, I started to make some bad bets and what looked like a good night went away quickly.

As soon as I made the bets, I knew they were bad. Even then, I did it over and over in the last hour. It is okay when it is small stakes stuff like what I play, but I can't imagine what kind of feeling somebody gets when they make a mistake that means something monetarily.

I did have fun though, so there is always entertainment value, and any time you win money, no matter how little, it beats the alternative.

I suppose one of your friends lost $5.00 in 4 hours. As you note, tht's still cheap for an evening of companionship.

I'd say that is a very good dollar amount for entertainment. Did you get free food too?

No free food. There is a game on Saturdays with food, but I can only stand so much cards. I don't want to spend a Saturday inside sitting around a card table.
